Binance APP Notification Settings and Price Alert Configuration

Push notifications are the primary communication channel between the APP and its users. Configured well, you'll never miss critical information. Configured poorly, you'll either miss important alerts or be buried in irrelevant messages. Today we'll systematically break down the entire Binance APP notification system.

Notification Types Overview

Binance APP notifications fall into roughly the following categories:

Price Alerts: Push notifications triggered when a coin you're tracking reaches your target price.

Trade Notifications: Pushes related to trading activity, such as order fills and changes in pending order status.

Account Security Notifications: Login alerts, withdrawal confirmations, security setting changes, and similar events.

System Announcements: Binance's official maintenance notices, new feature launches, and activity announcements.

Community Updates: Interaction notifications from Binance Square, and new posts from creators you follow.

Master Notification Settings

Path to notification settings: Profile → Settings → Notification Settings.

Push Notification Master Switch

At the top is a master push notification switch. Turning it off stops all APP push notifications. It's recommended to keep this enabled, then use the granular settings below to filter out notifications you don't want.

Category Management

The notification settings page is divided into multiple switches by type:

Notification Type Default Recommended Setting
Price Alerts On Keep on
Trade Notifications On Keep on
Security Alerts On Must keep on
Promotional Push On Turn off if unwanted
Community Updates On Turn off if unwanted
News & Information On Turn off if unwanted

In testing, the Security Alerts toggle is grayed out and cannot be turned off — a correct design decision. Security-related notifications should never be silenced.

Price Alert Feature — Deep Dive

Price alerts are the most useful feature in the Binance APP notification system. Let's review it in detail.

Creating a Price Alert

Method 1: Create from the Market Page

  1. Open the market detail page for any trading pair
  2. Tap the "bell" icon in the upper right
  3. Set your target price and alert direction (price rises to / price drops to)
  4. Confirm to create

Method 2: Create from the Alert Management Page

  1. Go to Notification Settings → Price Alerts
  2. Tap "Add Alert"
  3. Search for and select a trading pair
  4. Set your target price
  5. Confirm to create

In testing, Method 1 has a shorter path and is ideal for setting alerts while viewing a chart; Method 2 is better for managing multiple alerts in bulk.

Alert Parameter Settings

Each price alert can be configured with the following parameters:

Target Price: The specific price at which you want to be alerted. The system automatically displays the current price as a reference.

Alert Direction:

  • "Price rises to": Triggers when the price breaks above the target from below
  • "Price drops to": Triggers when the price falls below the target from above

Repeat Settings:

  • "Alert once": Automatically deleted after triggering
  • "Recurring alert": Alerts every time the target price is reached

Alert Method:

  • APP push notification
  • SMS notification (available in some regions)
  • Email notification

Alert Quantity Limit

In testing, a single account can create up to 200 price alerts — more than enough for most users. Once the limit is reached, you'll need to delete old alerts before creating new ones.

Alert Trigger Speed

This is a key metric. In testing, when a price alert was set slightly above the current price and the price crossed it, the push notification arrived within approximately 3–10 seconds. Given the combined latency of price data transmission, server processing, and the push notification channel, this speed is quite impressive.

That said, during extreme market volatility (such as a sudden spike or crash), alerts may experience greater delays. Price alerts should be treated as a supplementary tool — they're not reliable enough for executing precise trading strategies that depend on split-second timing.

Percentage Change Alerts

In addition to fixed price alerts, the Binance APP also supports percentage change alerts:

How to set them up: In the Price Alerts page, switch to the "Change %" tab.

Parameter configuration:

  • Select a trading pair
  • Set a percentage threshold — for example, "price rises more than 5%" or "price drops more than 3%"
  • Select a calculation window: 1 hour, 4 hours, or 24 hours

This feature is extremely useful for tracking unusual market activity. For example, you can set a "BTC drops more than 5% in 24 hours" alert so you're immediately notified if there's a significant pullback.

Trade Notifications — Details

Trade notifications include the following types:

Order Fill Notifications: Pushed when your pending order is filled by the market. In testing, push speed is approximately 2–5 seconds — essentially near real-time.

Order Cancellation Notifications: Pushed when an order is manually or automatically canceled.

Liquidation Warnings: Pushed when your margin ratio in futures trading approaches the liquidation threshold. This notification is critically important — futures traders should make absolutely certain this is enabled.

Earn Product Expiration Reminders: Pushed in advance when a fixed-term Earn product is about to mature, giving you time to plan your next steps.

Do Not Disturb Mode

One easily overlooked but very practical feature is the Do Not Disturb mode setting.

Path: Notification Settings → Do Not Disturb Hours.

You can set a time window (for example, 11 PM to 7 AM) during which all push notifications except security alerts will be silenced. Notifications are still recorded in the message center but will not produce banners or sounds.

This feature is a thoughtful addition for users who want quality sleep without completely disabling notifications.

Notification History

All push notifications are logged in the message center and can be reviewed at any time.

Access: Bell icon in the upper right of the home page → Message Center.

The message center is organized by category:

  • Price Alerts: Records of all triggered price alerts
  • Trade Messages: Order fill and status change records
  • System Messages: Official announcements and maintenance notices
  • Activity Messages: Promotional push notifications

In testing, messages are retained for approximately 30 days and older messages are automatically cleared. If you need to save important notifications, screenshot them for your records.

Pairing with System Notification Settings

Beyond APP-level settings, you also need to ensure that your phone's operating system allows Binance to send notifications.

Android

Settings → App Management → Binance → Notification Management → Enable notification permissions. Some Android phones also require separate authorization for "Banner Notifications" and "Lock Screen Notifications."

iOS

Settings → Notifications → Binance → Allow Notifications. It's recommended to also enable "Banners," "Sounds," and "Badges" simultaneously.

Recommended Configuration Presets

Based on different usage patterns, here are some suggested notification setups:

Long-term holders: Enable only price alerts and security notifications. Set alerts for a few key price levels and turn everything else off.

Active traders: Enable trade notifications and price alerts; disable promotional pushes and community updates; set Do Not Disturb hours.

Information enthusiasts: Enable everything and enjoy the most complete information flow.

Summary

The Binance APP's notification system is very well-rounded in terms of feature completeness — from basic price alerts to granular category management. The speed at which price alerts trigger is satisfying, and trade notification timeliness is solid.

The standout design choices are the Do Not Disturb mode and the fine-grained category management, which allow users to precisely control what information they receive rather than being forced to choose between "all on" or "all off."

Every new user is encouraged to spend five minutes configuring their notification preferences right after installing the APP — it will meaningfully improve your daily experience.
